At least five pilgrims were seriously injured after a vehicle carrying them overturned near the Suryavrinda crossing in Gangasagar on Wednesday. The accident occurred while the pilgrims were returning from Kapil Muni’s ashram and heading towards the Kachuberia vessel ghat.
According to local accounts, the “Magic” vehicle was travelling from Sagar when a child riding a bicycle suddenly came in front of it. The driver applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting the child, causing the vehicle to lose control and overturn on the road.
Local residents rushed to the spot and initiated rescue efforts. With assistance from the police, the injured pilgrims were taken to Sagar Rural Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
